Ana Filipa Neves Ferreira has begun her piano studies at the age of four in Macao (China), where she would complete with distinction her grade five piano course from the Royal Academy of Music of London and studies at the Macao Music Conservatoire under the distinguished Professor Leong Io Ming. She participated in the “Young Macao Musicians” piano competitions, having earned one second and two-third prizes. In December 2001, she played at the First Lopes Graça Piano Competition, held in Tomar, having obtained the second prize. In June 2002, she played with the National Conservatoire Orchestra, J.S. Bach’s Piano Concerto in fa minor, at the Ajuda Palace, in Lisbon.
She participated in various piano master classes in Portugal, Spain and France under international distinguished pianists, namely Dimitri Bashkirov, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro, Helena Sá da Costa, Luiz de Moura Castro, Oxana Yablonskaya, Paulo Badura-Skoda, Pedro Burmester, Pierre Réach and Vitaly Margulis. She also studied in Berlin, under the ERASMUS program, with Professor Dr. Ulrich Mahlert from the University der Kunste Berlin – Music Faculty and obtained a very high classification of semester frequency evaluation. In the academic year of 2006/07 she concludes her superior piano studies (graduation programme) in the city of Porto (Portugal) at the Superior School of Music and the Arts of Spectacles (ESMAE).
After the graduation she has been study piano performance in USA, at the University of Hartford, with distinguishes professors and pianists Luiz de Moura Castro and Oxana Yablonskaya. In the last years, she keeps developing her piano and chamber music performance with international renowned piano performers or academic professors and participate as an younger pianist in some of the most famous international music festivals or well-known music conservatories, namely frequently an performing at the Puigcerda Music Festival (Andorra), the International Engadin Summer Piano Academy (Switzerland) and with Prof. Irina Plotnikova she had improvement piano classes and has been selected from the international piano students to play at the famous Rachmaninoff Hall in the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.
Ana Ferreira was invited to be a research assistant at University Saint Joseph (Macao, China) where she taught Piano, Chamber Music and Music History. Recently she gave piano recitals at University Saint Joseph, Rui Cunha Foundation, Clube Militar and also participated in a Chamber Music Recital –MYSO 3rd Music Festival- organized by Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra Association.
In 2016 she obtained the LRSM degree from Royal Schools of Music.
Currently she is embracing a large scale project on Goldberg Variations (J.S.Bach), Clara Schumann works and R. Schumann works.
Ana Ferreira has obtained her Master degree in Education at University Saint Joseph with special focus on Neuroscience, Music and Education.
Ana Ferreira is currently embracing projects such as "Piano for Everyone" with her teaching approach strongly based on Neuroscience findings. Her students have won prizes from Macao Competitions and because of that was awarded of "Excellent Teacher" by the 21st Japan Hamamatsu Piara Competition.
Also a composer and improviser (Ana Snow), famously associated with "Goodbye Macao", Ana Ferreira is known to delight her public with improvisations over oriental themes.
